Async interviews collapse if your questions are vague, leading, or unscoreable. The good news: a few patterns fix most of it.
Five patterns to steal
- Anchor each question to a competency in the blueprint
- Ask for a specific past example, not a hypothetical
- Cap responses at 90 seconds; long answers don’t score better
- Lead with constraint, not topic ('a time you missed a deadline')
- Always include one situational follow-up
